Practical tips

  • No advance bookings for the campsite: find a spot and pay on arrival by scanning the QR code at the entrance, in the facility houses or on the reception door (Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay), or at the self-service kiosk. Late-night arrivals are fine.[5][6][2][3] (checked 2026-10-28)

  • Dogs on a leash only; no open fires; no grills on grass or wooden decks; no own gas stoves inside the buildings; campers may not use the guesthouse facilities.[7][6] (checked 2026-10-28)
  • Campsite guests get 15% off menu pizzas at Daddi's Pizza next door; there is also a 24/7 honesty souvenir shop.[1][2][3] (checked 2026-10-28)
  • Nearest grocery store is Krambúðin in Reykjahlíð next to the N1 petrol station (about 5 minutes); the Vínbúðin liquor store in Reykjahlíð opens weekdays 16–18.[6][2] (checked 2026-10-28)
  • There is no playground on site; the nearest is in Reykjahlíð next to the school.[6] (checked 2026-10-28)
