Campsites Near Reykjavík for Campervans (2026): City, Hafnarfjörður and Mosfellsdalur

Three campsites in the capital area publish 2026 information: Reykjavík Eco-Campsite in Laugardalur, about 3 km from the city centre; Hafnarfjörður's campsite on Víðistaðatún, about 5 minutes from the town centre; and Mosskógar, in a sheltered grove in Mosfellsdalur valley.[1][2][3]

Only Reykjavík Eco-Campsite is open all year, and from 15 October to 15 April only its Area A is open, for motorhomes and campervans. Mosskógar is open 1 March – 1 December, and Hafnarfjörður 15 May – 30 September.[4][5][3][6][2]

Scope: campsites within the capital area (Höfuðborgarsvæðið) listed on tjalda.is with 2026 information, checked 2026-10-31. The town campsite in Mosfellsbær (Skólabraut) is not included: its tjalda.is entry is hidden from the public site and still shows 2022 prices, so its 2026 status is Unconfirmed.
